About Chiheb

Although I grew up in a multilingual environment, I speak French almost like a native. I’ve lived in France for six years and gained experience in a variety of fields: assistant director at a higher biology school in Paris, restaurant manager, emergency room support at Sainte-Anne Hospital, helping kids with homework, and activity coordination at a senior care facility. I earned a high school diploma in foreign languages in Algeria, the most French-speaking country after France, and at 17 I achieved the DALF C1 from the French Institute, officially qualifying me to teach French. I also studied Arabic and Hebrew at the Sorbonne (Paris IV), using French as my primary language for learning and research. Currently, I work in a French cuisine restaurant-mountain hut in the Pyrenees, which keeps me immersed in the language and culture daily. My classes combine vocabulary, grammar, speaking and writing, reading, and debates, always in a practical, interactive way tailored to each student. They’re ideal for studies, work, travel, exchange programs, or simply for anyone curious about the world and French culture. Learning French with me means diving into the language, exploring ideas, and enjoying the process while making real progress.

About the lesson

I’m a polyglot with a DALF C1 in French and a degree from the Sorbonne University, one of the top 30 universities in the world. My French classes are designed for intermediate students who want to advance fully in the language.
We work on vocabulary, grammar, speaking and writing, reading, and debates on a wide range of topics both local and international. The method is practical and interactive, including exercises, role-playing, text analysis, and real-life situations to boost fluency and confidence. Classes also focus on comprehension, reasoning, and critical thinking. Culture and context are integrated into every lesson, covering historical, artistic, scientific, social, and current topics. Vocabulary and structures are adapted to each student’s needs.
Additionally, students are prepared for travel, academic programs, international exchanges, or professional situations, combining formal and informal language depending on context. With a flexible, personalized approach, learning with me is comprehensive, engaging, and motivating.

Chiheb is a wonderful teacher! While I was traveling, I was seeking help with French and Arabic. Chiheb has helped me along the way with lesson plans tailored to my needs. He gives guidance with practicing outside of our sessions, which further solidifies my learning. We sometimes speak in English or Spanish to facilitate communication or make connections & translations between languages.
He not only has a thorough approach to teaching, but a beautiful understanding of language and words, and we often explore language practice through poetry and literature. Sometimes we practice just through interesting discussions. Chiheb has such a rich array of what he brings to the table, so whatever your needs are, and whatever your level, I highly recommend him!
