About Ben

I hold a BMUS in jazz performance, blue card and have taught in professional settings for over a decade. I'm currently employed as a private piano tutor, ensemble conductor and choir accompanist at Cannon Hill Anglican College and Jazz Music Institute (university)

About the lesson

Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced player looking to expand upon your existing knowledge, there are a plethora of methods and resources I use to help my students achieve their goals.

I teach students of all ages and backgrounds. I teach face to face and have an incredible setup for ONLINE lessons utilizing an overhead camera!

I am able to deliver lessons on the following:

AMEB / Rockschool / ABRSM exams
Jazz improvisation
Pop accompaniment
Building proper technique
Aural and theory training

Ben is an experienced and qualified teacher who has taught me for the past 3 years. He has a very clear and formulaic approach to teaching but is also flexible and able to deviate from a lesson plan when I wish to investigate an idea or topic further. Highly recommend.

We started by learning some of my favourite classical pieces and we are now are exploring the world of jazz improvisation.

His knowledge and teaching methods are extremely professional and he is a very attentive teacher.
