About Gaya
Teaching started for me as a simple curiosity that turned into 13 years of daily practice. It is an honest confession that I sometimes find the simplest melodies the hardest to teach well. I have spent my career working with nervous beginners and grade exam candidates alike, ensuring they understand the foundational concepts.
My instruction covers scales and arpeggios, dynamics and expression, and proper posture and hand position. We also look at music theory and sight playing to build a rounded musician. I focus on these technical markers simply because they allow the music to flow through you.
