About Hannah
Hi, my name is Hannah Rieders. I have a Master of Science in environmental justice and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology/Biostatistics. My interests lie at the nexus of environmental justice and public health, especially pertaining to structural racism and racial health disparities. I have extensive experience with qualitative and quantitative research throughout my education and work experiences. I was a former biostatistician, where I gained a broad array of knowledge and skill sets pertaining to coding, data analysis, statistics, and technical writing. I am proficient in the statistical software of Stata and familiar with other statistical programs. Through my background in environmental justice, I also have strong qualitative skills, including communication, collaboration, and writing. I am excited to gain more experience as a teacher and build upon my previous role as a teacher assistant for a graduate-level program evaluation in a public health course.

The subject areas that I am qualified to tutor in include coding, data analysis, statistics, public health, and writing, anywhere from high school to graduate level. My teaching style is very goal-oriented, and I believe that setting small incremental goals can help students achieve longer-term goals. I shape the exact mechanism through which I teach according to each student's needs and background. I actively listen to my students and am open to feedback from my students for ways to further improve my teaching. I desire for my students to feel comfortable and respected during their sessions and willing to take risks in their learning.
