About E
I am a 2nd year studying a Biosciences degree at Durham university with a passion for microbiology and biomedicine. During my A-level years I was an ambassador at my college for potential students, requiring detailed knowledge of the AQA specifications for Biology and Chemistry. I also hosted study groups for struggling students in my subjects both on subject content and exam preparation which I find equally important due to the nature of AQA A-Level and GCSE questions in biology/chemistry. As someone who has studied and worked part-time jobs throughout my higher education, I specialise in providing explanations that allow students to understand concepts instead of just memorisin them, which will be key in reaching top grades during exam times.

My teaching approach is to first explain to students the concepts they are struggling with and providing the context needed to give a general overview. Once clear the student is comfortable with these, the details of these concepts will be explained and the student and I will go through questions and activities together which will allow the subject material to be further solidified into their knowledge base. The next stage will be for the student to explain these concepts back to me, while I ask relevant questions to make sure they are able to explain it with ease. Hand picked questions from past exam papers will be used and finally the student and I will explore the real world and current applications of these concepts which are necessary to reach A* quality answers.
