About Fatima

I am a biomedical science student working towards eventually becoming a surgeon. I am fascinated by the human body and how the different body systems keep us alive. I am also passionate about helping others and making a tangible difference in people's lives. Being a surgeon makes me feel like a "superhero" fixing what is wrong and putting everything back together to make the person feel at their best. I am an advocate for inequities and violence and support many causes. As a Youth Peace Ambassador for The Peace Foundation NZ, I have worked with many advocacy groups, playing a massive part in my desire to help others. My academic journey has been marked by significant achievements, including gaining Excellence Endorsement in Levels One, Two, and Three, and excelling in NCEA Mathematics and Biology. These accomplishments, coupled with my leadership role as a Prefect and my active participation in school activities such as Cultural Week and ANZAC Day services, reflect my commitment to excellence and service. My passion for change and current events, demonstrated through my role as a debater, has also been recognized with multiple awards in Peace Activism, Leadership, and a scholarship from The University of Otago. Outside of academics, I love to go to cafe-hop all across Auckland, read books, and do calligraphy. My commitment to helping others is further demonstrated through my extensive tutoring experience. I am deeply passionate about providing high-quality assistance to students, a dedication I will bring to my future endeavors.

About the lesson

With several years of private tutoring experience, particularly with younger kids and NCEA Mathematics, I am confident I can guide students towards academic success.

As a tutor, I aim to help students excel in the NCEA curriculum and build lifelong study techniques that will help them beyond high school. I understand that everyone learns differently, and I am committed to adapting to each student's unique learning style. With both Mathematics and Biology, I have an application-based approach to teaching with a primary focus on strategies and practising past exams.
