About Syeda
I have previously worked as a Tutor-Mentor for TutorBright Toronto, and have also worked as an Administrator/Tutor for The Talent Academy, also located in Toronto.
During my time in these roles, I tutored and mentored students of multiple grade levels (particularly Grade 6 to Grade 9), and provided them with academic or logistical support as needed.
Additionally, I have formerly worked as a Library Digitization Projects Assistant at Ryerson University, which further enhanced my knowledge of e-Learning and taught me how best to tailor course/educational materials to fit various students' needs.

My main focus is to provide students with the confidence to solve Mathematics problems by themselves, and understand how best to ask questions to enhance their understanding of the concepts in question.
I hope to create a safe space for students, and to provide them with a learning environment that is supportive and productive.
My usual lesson involves a basic review of previously taught material, with a few written questions and a verbal quiz (if the student is prepared to take one).
The next step is to show multiple examples covering the new Math topic, and the final step would be to go through questions and worksheets related to the new topic.
I think it is important to walk students through questions slowly, tackle them together, and then show them how to break down the problems step-by-step to achieve confidence to solve problems on their own.
