About the lesson

I’m an experienced Biology tutor with over 10 years of teaching and a BSc in Human Biology. My passion lies in helping students explore the fascinating, unseen world of microorganisms. I specialize in guiding learners through microbial ecology and the human microbiome, uncovering how tiny life forms shape our lives and environment. Together, we’ll delve into the incredible diversity of microbes — from bacteria and archaea to fungi and viruses — and their intricate symbioses, like the gut flora that supports our health.

I love showing students how microbes drive biogeochemical cycles, sustaining ecosystems and recycling essential elements. We’ll also examine how they can both promote and disrupt health, offering insights into infectious disease, immunity, and therapeutic approaches. My sessions connect theory to real-world contexts, helping you see microbes not just as pathogens but as indispensable allies. I emphasize critical thinking, curiosity, and hands-on understanding of microbial communities.
