About Alexandra

I completed my teacher training in 2019, though I have been tutoring Biology and Chemistry for over 10 years, and recently passed 2500 hours of online tuition. During this time I have taught hundreds students in 1:1 sessions as well as supervised other tutors teaching a range of subjects. My experience tutoring has covered year 7 to undergraduate level, though mostly A-Level and GCSE students.

I have also completed PGCE training where I have taught Year 7-11 Science as well as A-Level Biology and Chemistry in an in class setting.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring varies from student to student. In some cases a student wishes to be taught the entire specification of their subject in which case I work with students and parents/carers to design a plan to cover the curriculum within a specific time frame. I other cases students require tutoring in a specific area of their subject, in which case these can be easily covered.

One of my unique selling points is the high expectations I have of my students. I do not expect every student I tutor to get an A*, how ever I do expect students to be committed to doing well on their course and if I have the view that this is not the case will discuss with both student and parent/carer to come to an agreement regarding the best path forward for making good progress on the course a student is enrolled.
