About Jocelyn

I am a dedicated tutor who recently graduated from college and has a deep love for working with children of all ages. With a fresh perspective and enthusiasm for education, I bring a dynamic approach to tutoring that is both engaging and effective.

In addition to tutoring, I am nursing assistant in a hospital, which has deepened my understanding of patient care and empathy. This experience has equipped me with valuable skills in communication, patience, and the ability to adapt to different situations—qualities that I bring into my tutoring sessions.

About the lesson

I have extensive experience working with students aged 7 to 17, specializing in various settings where learners face challenges such as life-threatening illnesses, financial difficulties, or being first-generation students. My approach focuses on meeting students where they are, creating a safe space where they can comfortably embrace vulnerability and learn from mistakes—a critical aspect of the learning process.

I offer tutoring across a wide range of school subjects and vocational classes, and I particularly enjoy guiding students through ACT and SAT preparation. My comprehensive approach extends to interview preparation, scholarship searches, essay writing, and guiding students through the entire college application process. I have successfully helped students achieve significant improvements in their test scores and secure scholarships, and feel encouraged and supported to take the next step in furthering their education.
