About Oscar

Hello!

My name is Oscar Mannarella and I am delighted to announce that I am offering lessons in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and general 3D modeling using industry-standard software like Revit, AutoCAD, and 3Ds Max. I bring to the table 12 years of invaluable experience, having worked in dynamic environments across Italy, France, and Canada.

In addition to my role as a BIM Manager at a leading construction company, I am also a BIM instructor for continuing education at Cegep du Vieux Montreal and I am also prof at Superprof France since 2020. This unique position allows me to keep my skills sharp and my knowledge up-to-date, thereby ensuring my students receive the highest quality education.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in practicality and application. With a strong emphasis on breaking down complex processes into understandable steps, my lessons cater to a range of skills and experiences. From theoretical concepts and practical techniques, to efficient workflows and problem-solving strategies, I aim to help my students master the art and science of BIM and 3D modeling.

About the lesson

I have carefully curated my BIM and 3D modeling courses to maximize both understanding and application. Here's a snapshot of how I structure them.

The first phase of the course focuses on the fundamental understanding of Revit, a leading BIM software. Students learn to create, manage, and navigate 3D models with a hands-on approach. I illustrate key principles of 3D modeling using real-world examples, ensuring students grasp not just the 'how' but also the 'why' behind each technique.

Next, I delve into the concept of parametric design in Revit. This section covers the creation, modification, and utilization of parameters, explaining how they can be harnessed to automate and enhance design processes.

The final, and perhaps most exciting, section of my course introduces students to Dynamo, a powerful visual programming tool integrated with Revit. This segment facilitates a deeper understanding of computational design and demonstrates how it can streamline BIM workflows.

Throughout my courses, I prioritize interaction, allowing students to learn by doing. They undertake tasks and projects mirroring industry demands, thus preparing them to apply their skills in professional environments.

By the end of the course, students are well-equipped to use Revit and Dynamo effectively, empowered to innovate within the world of BIM and 3D modeling.
