About Yukie

I am a Japanese and English bilingual and I grew up in the US and Nagoya, Japan. I have 5+ years of experience tutoring for students ranging from ages 4 - 22, both in person at cram schools and also one-on-one online lessons. I was also a Japanese language volunteer for a language meet-up for a year. I recently got my Master’s Degree in International Education and Development, and am very passionate about delivering quality education opportunities!

About the lesson

I will personalize your Japanese learning curriculum based on YOUR interests and needs. For example, I will craft PPTs if you’re a visual learner, I will create review homework tailored to your lesson and level, I can use your textbook to match the textbook you’re currently using, and so on. My lesson usually starts with a review session (short quiz) to refresh what you learned in the last lesson, then learning new educational content tailored to your needs through short lectures and practice questions, followed up with a personalized homework after the lesson if you want extra things to work on until our next lesson. I tailor the lesson content based on what YOU specifically want to work on - reading, listening, writing, daily conversations, pronunciation, JLPT prep (N5-N1), homework assistance, and more! Whether you just started studying Japanese at school, want extra help memorizing hiragana, katakana and kanji, need a Japanese conversation partner, have to prepare for a study abroad, job, or casual traveling - I absolutely welcome anyone of all levels! My lessons are meant to be educational and fun, and I can’t wait to discuss with you how you’d like to start learning Japanese with me!!
