About Misty
21-year-old undergraduate studying Criminology with an intense interest in English, Law and Psychology - on top of academic experience in all three. I am bilingual (English & Mandarin) and bi-racial. Having lived in both Asia and Europe, I've experienced multiple different types of teaching and recognise which ones people learn best in. I have prior experience with SEND pupils which allows me to have an acute awareness of when you might be struggling or feeling anxious etc., my aim is to ensure you always have a safe space to make mistakes and learn.

I have a multi-faceted approach towards teaching. The first couple of lessons I assess their optimal way of learning, then adapting lesson plans towards that. Recollection is heavily emphasised within my lessons, therefore lessons will always start with a small quiz on the prior session and end with a short recap (from the student) about what has been learnt. Understanding will always be a priority as it creates memory that is impenetrable. Creating an interactive environment that prevents passive learning enables both the student and I to have a stimulating and enjoyable lesson - where esteem and confidence increase as we witness productivity being achieved.
