About Leeson

I am an accounting professional currently working at KPMG, with a strong academic and practical background in accounting, audit, and taxation.

I completed a Master of Management & Professional Accounting program and have experience in public accounting, including audit, compilation engagements, and corporate and personal tax work. This gives me a good understanding of both the technical side of accounting and how accounting concepts are applied in real-world situations.

Having gone through university accounting courses and professional accounting training myself, I understand that many accounting topics can feel confusing when they are explained only through formulas, rules, or textbook definitions. I enjoy breaking complicated concepts into simpler steps and helping students understand the reasoning behind them.

I am patient, approachable, and happy to adjust my explanations depending on each student's background and learning style. I can teach in both English and Mandarin, which is especially helpful for students who prefer to discuss difficult accounting concepts in Chinese while still learning the proper English accounting terminology.

My goal is to create a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, even if they feel the question is basic.

About the lesson

I offer personalized accounting tutoring for university students who want clear explanations, practical examples, and targeted help with their own courses.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs. Before each session, students can send me their lecture slides, practice questions, assignments, or specific topics they are struggling with. I then focus the lesson on the areas that will help them most, rather than following a generic textbook-based approach.

I can help with Financial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Management Accounting, Auditing, and other related business courses. My goal is not only to show students how to get the right answer, but also to help them understand the logic behind accounting concepts so they can solve similar questions independently.

What sets me apart is my combination of academic and practical experience. I have a Master of Management & Professional Accounting background and professional experience in public accounting and audit. This allows me to connect classroom concepts with real-world accounting examples, which often makes difficult topics easier to understand.

I can teach in both English and Mandarin, which can be especially helpful for students who understand accounting concepts better when they are explained in their first language.

A typical lesson may include:

- reviewing difficult concepts from lectures
- walking through practice questions step by step
- identifying common exam mistakes
- explaining journal entries and financial statement impacts
- reviewing assignments or practice cases
- preparing for quizzes, midterms, and final exams

My lessons are best suited for undergraduate university students taking introductory or intermediate accounting courses, as well as students who want extra support in auditing or management accounting.

I aim to make accounting feel structured and logical rather than overwhelming, and I adjust the pace and teaching style based on each student’s background and goals.
