About Santoshi

I have been learning Bharatanatyam since 2010 and have just given my Vidwath exam. I have taken certificate courses in Abhinaya Darpanam and Chaari Vivaranam from a renowned Bharatanatyam Guru. I have been teaching students since 2017 and am taking my first batch of students for the Junior exam this year.

I enjoy learning about the origin and history of classical dance and am fascinated by the world of knowledge gifted to us by our ancestors in the form of treatises like the Natyashastra and the Abhinaya Darpanam. I find teaching and discussion to be the best way to expand my own knowledge and skill and I find it imperative to build the spirit of inquisitiveness in the next generation of dancers. I am always happy to answer any questions that my students have for me, and for the questions I don't have answers to, I love finding out.

I can help you prepare for the theory exams!
I can make customized notes for each topic and help you learn it and present it at the exam
I can teach you some practical aspects such as
- hasthas (asamyutha, samyutha, nritta, devatha, bandhavya, navagraha, dashavatara)
- bhedas (shiro, drishti, greeva, bhroo, paada bhedas)

Your class can be customized to suit your exact needs. I will be understanding your strengths and weaknesses and interests and troubles and proceed from there.

Though I specialize in teaching for the Karnataka Board Grade exams, I may be able to help you study for other similar exams such as Bridge academy exams, Ravindra Bharati, Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Bachelor's and master's degree exams in Bharatanatyam.
