About Ben
I trained at Manchester School of Theatre, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Acting in 2014. I also trained with the National Youth Theatre and British Youth Music Theatre. My passion for teaching and coaching developed during the pandemic, where I began to run bespoke individual and small-group workshops over Zoom for various schools, colleges and theatre groups. I am a huge fan of Shakespeare and theatre, and love being able to extract all the wonderful clues he gives us in the text to be able to tackle any character on the page. It's more straightforward than you think!

I have a very get-up-and-go approach to coaching. Sessions start from 30 minutes and we can cover anything from monologue coaching, to deep character study, to text analysis. Whatever your goals are for the session, we can work and plan around that. I start by working from the 'outside-in', focusing on the clues the text gives us to lift that character off the page. Work covered in sessions includes: - Monologue coaching - classical & modern - Acting through song - Drama school audition prep - Shakespeare Crash Courses - Speech & scene mapping Ages 16 onwards
