About Heba

Hi, I'm Heba! I'm a Maritime Archaeologist by profession, but I have always loved teaching - especially helping people with their language skills. After countless hours of proofreading and restructuring essays, resumes, manuscripts - I want to see if I can reach more people in a way that helps me grow too!

A practice I have stood by - from teaching primary school students English to teaching Masters students Archaeology - is to meet my students where they are at.

Despite the subject, I do not see language skills as a measure of intelligence or creativity, so I will never judge you for faltering or making mistakes. We are all here to learn new things every day, and I’m sure I will learn just as much as you do at the end of every lesson!

You can support me by being mindful of time, staying focused, meeting deadlines and, of course, asking questions. Within the professional boundaries of improving your writing skills, I’ll be your cheerleader throughout our journey together, and will be sure to celebrate all your milestones along the way!

About the lesson

Whether you need help crafting a college essay, perfecting a sales pitch or just generally maximising the impact of your words, my English degree and 10 years of proposal writing experience are at your service.

Throughout my career, I have seen the power of good language in communicating ideas and influencing people. With these lessons, you can focus on your creativity, and we can work together to help share it with the world!

Our lesson structure will depend on your needs entirely - if you have an idea you want to work on (eg. a research proposal, a resume, or a business plan) we can do that over a number of sessions, while I explain the concepts of form and style along the way, so you can use those tools in the future. If you would prefer general guidance, we will cover a range of writing tools and concepts by editing a sample piece of writing in every lesson. All learnings will be condensed into Key Takeaways at the end of each lesson.

While I am happy to work with students of all levels, perfecting your writing skills with me will be most effective if you have a decent grasp of the English language to begin with. Students from all academic disciplines or professional backgrounds are welcome.
