About Michelle
I am a Behaviour Specialist and Teacher within a Pupil Referral Unit. Within the unit we teach a variety of Maths, English, P.E, Art and Geography from around the world, alongside life skills such as cooking and home safety. Due to the nature of the children at our base we also teach lessons around mental health and well-being and ways to deal with social and emotional issues.

My teaching method is lead by encouraging as much participation from my class and students as possible in order for them to share their knowledge with each other, put they’re ideas forward and engage them in their own learning journey.
I structure my lessons by clearly identifying our aim at the beginning and introducing my topic, followed by a variety of teacher input/lecturing, interactive activities, group discussions and written tasks. I like to conclude my lessons with a consolidation task to check that my students have understood what it is we have been learning, and give them chance to identify any areas they may still need help with. I always available and willing to provide as much help and support to my students as possible following my lessons, and I’m happy to provide further 1:1 tutoring.
