Beginners Piano Tuition from an enthusiastic, young Salisbury based Piano Teacher/ Student

Noah has been tutoring my 12 year old son for his grade 5 theory. He has really enjoyed the lessons and has engaged far more with theory than he has in the past.

I saw Noah's promotion as a piano tutor on Facebook and decided, at 70 yrs old, to take the plunge. I had lessons as a child and since then have randomly tried to teach myself with little success. What I hoped for was not more of the same .. read, play, learn .. I want to play freely, bravely, let the notes find themselves, improvise and make the music mine rather than the composers. In my first lesson Noah showed me he understood (despite my terror at playing for another person). He is kind and understanding, he won't rap my fingers with a ruler if I make a mistake (my childhood teacher did that) - in fact I am beginning to realise that keeping going with mistakes is better than collapsing when things go wrong. He isn't making it too easy - I am tested and really need to practice, but the stages so far have been bite sized and understandable. I very much recommend Noah for any nervous player or a player who wishes to improve and enjoy the experience. I hope I won't let him down!!
