About Yamamoto
※Please note that my lesson slots are limited due to a high number of students. If you are interested, I recommend contacting me as early as possible.
Nice to meet you, I’m Kaho.
I have taught Japanese for over 3 years as a volunteer and more than 1,500 hours online.
I’m from Gifu, known for hot springs and the World Heritage site Shirakawa-go. I have lived in Shizuoka, Osaka, and Canada (working holiday). I’m cheerful, natural, and always positive.
Learning English and challenging myself opened up my world, and I want to support your efforts in the same way.
I worked as a civil engineer for 6 years, spent one year at an international school, and worked at a bakery in Canada for another year. I love sports — I practiced judo, table tennis, and swimming for over 10 years each. My hobbies are anime, baking bread, movies, and enjoying delicious food.

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
She’s a very friendly and easy-going teacher! I feel comfortable asking questions, and she always understands what I want to focus on. Her lessons are clear, easy to follow, and always on point with what I want to improve. I enjoy the class and would definitely recommend her!
I met Kaho through a study group for Japanese language teachers.
She is a teacher who gives her students plenty of opportunities to speak Japanese during her lessons. While using textbooks to help students learn grammar in a structured way, she also makes sure they have plenty of time to practice speaking and use what they have learned.
She is also very friendly and approachable, creating a comfortable environment where students can speak without being afraid of making mistakes. Even students who are not yet confident in speaking Japanese can feel relaxed and enjoy practicing with her.
As a fellow Japanese language teacher, I highly recommend her.Kaho and I met when I was at the beginning of my Japanese language studies, a year before I went on a semester long study abroad program at Kansai Gaidai (in Hirakata, Osaka) Right away, I noticed that she was energetic, enthusiastic and an overall positive person who helped me feel comfortable and confident in my studies. At this time, she wasn’t officially doing paid tutoring yet, but still gave me such good advice and guidance! In my opinion, Kaho’s advice is more engaging than a textbook because she uses real world examples and adds in cultural context. Through learning each other’s language, we became good friends and traveled in the U.S. and Japan together. I worried less about day-to-day interactions while abroad because she set me up well. My interactions with the local community felt more meaningful because I was able to understand things through a more nuanced perspective. Overall, Kaho is a tutor that will make people feel supported throughout their learning journey. I recommend her to all levels of students.
