About Courteney
Kia Ora / Hello from Courteney
This is my fourth year teaching in NZ. Before my degree I did teaching in Thailand and received an ESOL certificate. I enjoy working with ESOL students and as a result of that, I have been in their position and understand how they feel when they are not confident with speaking. I have been head of sports for my school for the last two years, really trying to push cross-curricular tasks so the students can learn whilst being active/doing what they enjoy. I have a passion for all students to engage with their learning as well as lead their own learning.
I am a person who loves to connect with interests, enjoys a laugh and makes activities more enjoyable so the children can walk away with success.

I create my lessons from what the students I have in front of me. Once I get to know them and understand their learning, I set individual goals and my expectations change accordingly depending on what the child needs.
I tutor outside my work hours and usually spend about 40-45mins. I prefer to teach online, however if not far from my house I can travel to you at an extra cost.
I love pencil to paper work, however understand if this is a concern we can do online.
I do this for the children, so once we get started I will know how to get started from there.
