About Liam
Hi there! I’m a passionate and experienced music educator, conductor, and euphonium specialist with over 15 years of teaching experience and a rich background in performance and leadership. My musical journey took an exciting turn when I pursued a Master’s degree at the Royal College of Music while simultaneously performing as principal euphonium of the Band of the Irish Guards. Balancing my studies with professional performance gave me a unique perspective on music, blending academic rigour with real-world experience. I’ve had the privilege of touring the world with various British Army bands, sharing music with audiences across the globe, and later served as Bandmaster for the Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Band of the Grenadier Guards. In these roles, I had the honour of conducting some of the finest military bands in the country in their State Ceremonial roles. Now, I dedicate my time to conducting, coaching, and teaching students of all ages and abilities. With 15 years of teaching experience, I’m passionate about helping others discover the joy of music, whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills. My approach is supportive, patient, and tailored to your individual goals. I look forward to facilitating your journey.

In general, if you are just starting out I would recommend 30 mins, we will build strong habits for warm-up and practice whilst tackling your personal goals. I will always encourage that you set goals and we work towards them. For the more experienced 60 mins is what I would recommend. We will discuss parts of the above but encouraging self-development and understanding. Ultimately what you want to work on is my focus, I am here to facilitate your growth and development. I have taught and coached people at all levels, I am here to facilitate your journey.
