About Karlyn

I am a professional, state-certified Spanish teacher. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Education with a major in Spanish. I also have my Masters degree in Education. I taught 16 successful, consecutive years of high school Spanish: Spanish I, Spanish II, Spanish III, Spanish IV, and AP (Advanced Placement) Spanish. I was voted several times by my students to Who's Who Among American High School Teachers, as their favorite high school teacher from all four years of their high school experience. I not only love teaching Spanish, I love teaching my students the subject that I am so very passionate about. Since leaving public education in 2007, I have dedicated my time to tutoring Spanish and working as a Spanish interpreter. I have also lived and traveled extensively in several Spanish speaking countries: Mexico (Guadalajara - lived; Mazatlan, Mexico City, Puebla, Merida, Hermosillo, Nogales, Tijuana, Ensenada, Camlu, Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo, Todos Santos, La Paz, Ayutla, Coatla); Costa Rica (San Jose, Nicoya Peninsula, Monte Verde); Colombia (Bogota, Medellin, Melgar, Zipaquira, La Mesa, Ibague); Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Sitges, Fuengirola, Malaga, Toledo, Salamanca). In addition to my travels, I have friends from almost all of the 20 Spanish-speaking countries. Because of my travels and friend connections, I come with a breadth of language and cultural knowledge to offer my students, not just from Mexico but from most of the Spanish speaking countries.

About the lesson

My lessons are customized to meet your specific Spanish-learning needs. I am a state-certified Spanish teacher with Endorsements in K-12 Spanish and K-12 Bilingual Education. I have been trained formally at the university and post university levels in the teaching of Spanish K-12 and college-level Spanish. I am a certified Spanish Language AP (Advanced Placement) Teacher. I am very passionate about helping others learn Spanish, and I am very personable and genuinely interested and invested in your success as a Spanish learner.
