About Kaitlyn
WHO AM I?:
I am a professional academic educator with extensive experience in high level teaching, student development and curriculum design. Over the past several years, I have supported more than two hundred students across New South Wales, the ACT and Victoria, assisting them through key academic transitions, senior coursework requirements and competitive university pathways. My professional background spans multiple sectors, including education, youth leadership and development, public policy work, research support and media communication. This combination of experience has informed a teaching approach that is methodical, analytical and aligned with the standards expected within top tier educational environments.
My expertise extends to working with students of varied abilities, including high performing learners seeking advanced academic enrichment as well as differently abled students who require intentional differentiation, structured support and adaptive learning strategies. I prioritise the development of foundational and advanced academic skills through a pedagogical framework that emphasises critical thinking, exceptional written communication, disciplined study habits and long term academic confidence.
Families who work with me value the professionalism, reliability and educational precision I bring to every lesson. MY EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY:
My work across the education, youth leadership, public policy and media sectors has enabled me to develop a sophisticated understanding of how students learn, communicate and perform within academic systems. I have delivered mentoring, instruction and strategic academic support in both formal and informal learning environments, allowing me to design programs that align with school standards while extending students beyond basic curriculum expectations. My teaching practice is informed by current research on student engagement, literacy development, cognitive diversity and high performance learning.
I specialise in providing differentiated support that meets students at their current level while guiding them toward higher order thinking. For differently abled students, I implement structured, evidence based strategies that promote clarity, consistency and confidence. These include executive functioning scaffolds, adapted pacing, explicit instruction, and ongoing reinforcement of key skills. For high achieving students, I offer advanced analytical frameworks, extended content enrichment and elevated academic standards that prepare them for senior school, university and competitive scholarship pathways.
My educational philosophy is rooted in the view that strong academic performance is the product of stable foundations, disciplined skill building and sustained intellectual curiosity. I design each lesson to develop critical reading, precise writing, structured reasoning and independent study habits, ensuring students not only succeed in the short term but also acquire the capabilities required for long term academic independence.
WHAT I TEACH:
I provide comprehensive academic instruction across the NSW, ACT and Victorian curricula, supporting students from Year 7 to Year 12 and early university. My programs are designed to build strong foundational skills, deepen analytical thinking and prepare students for the demands of senior secondary and tertiary study.
For Years 7 and 8, I teach all core subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, and General Civics. At this level I focus on reading comprehension, writing foundations, numeracy confidence, research skills and the development of disciplined study habits.
Across Years 9 and 10 in NSW and the ACT, I support students in English, Mathematics at all levels, Science, History, Geography, Civics, Commerce, PDHPE, PASS, and selected humanities electives. These years introduce more complex assessment structures, so I place particular emphasis on analytical writing, structured research tasks and consistent exam preparation. In Victoria, I work with students in English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Health and Physical Education, Economics and Business, and the Victorian capabilities such as Ethics and Intercultural Understanding. I also assist with STEM electives, extended responses and project based learning.
At the senior level in NSW and the ACT, I specialise in subjects requiring advanced literacy, interpretation and high level critical thinking. My senior areas include English Standard, English Advanced, English Extension, Legal Studies, Modern and Ancient History, History Extension, Society and Culture, Studies of Religion, Geography, Business Studies, Economics, PDHPE and Community and Family Studies. I guide students through depth studies, major works, source analysis and HSC exam preparation with a structured and disciplined approach.
For VCE students, I provide support across English, Literature, Legal Studies, History, Global Politics, Sociology, Health and Human Development, Business Management, Economics, Psychology, Geography and Media. I assist with SAC preparation, extended written tasks and the development of strong exam technique.
I also offer early university support for students studying introductory law, politics, public policy, international relations, sociology, communications and other humanities based subjects. This includes academic writing, research skills, IRAC, statutory interpretation, referencing, argument construction and oral presentation skills.
