About Judah

I’m an award-winning filmmaker and experienced mentor based in London, with a passion for storytelling and helping others find their voice. Over the past few years, I’ve worked across film and TV productions while also designing and leading filmmaking workshops for young people and aspiring filmmakers.

I started teaching because I know how difficult it can be to break into the industry without guidance. Having learnt through both hands-on experience and formal training, I’m committed to making filmmaking feel accessible, practical and achievable for others.

I bring a calm, supportive approach to teaching while challenging students to grow creatively and take their ideas seriously. Whether you’re studying Film & TV or just starting out I want students to leave not just more skilled, but more confident in what they can achieve and where they can go next.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching is practical, supportive and rooted in real industry experience. I focus on helping students understand storytelling first, then apply it through hands-on filmmaking, from developing ideas and scripts to shooting and editing their own work.

Lessons are typically 1-2 hours, depending on the student’s goals. I tailor sessions to each individual, whether they’re studying GCSE/A-Level Film & TV, preparing a portfolio, or just starting out.

I’ve spent the past few years designing and delivering filmmaking courses and mentoring young people, so I’m used to working with different levels and learning styles. I also bring experience from working across film and TV productions, which allows me to teach not just theory, but how the industry actually works.

My lessons are for students aged 13+, from beginners to those looking to take filmmaking more seriously. I aim to build confidence, creativity and a clear understanding of how to turn ideas into finished work.

This first lesson offered with Judah will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details

Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether that’s GCSE/A-Level support, building a portfolio, working in the industry, or learning filmmaking from scratch. Sessions can focus on theory, practical filmmaking, or a combination of both.

Standard lessons are 1-2 hours. Longer sessions or project-based work (e.g. creating a short film) can be arranged.

I also offer structured packages for students who want to develop a full project, from idea to final edit, which can be useful for coursework or portfolios.

Group sessions and workshops are available on request.

Discounts can be discussed for block bookings or ongoing mentorship.
