About Len
I am a career journalist with guest-teaching stints for college students and professional reporters. I coached and assigned working journalists for 14 years, several of them winning national recognition. A specialty is the personal essay or analysis piece – most any form of writing that makes a persuasive case. I am a graduate of Trinity College, Hartford, and studied health sciences as a John S. Knight Fellow at Stanford University.

Good writing – and, especially, memorable essays – come not from fancy wordplay but clear thinking. So I base my lessons on methodical preparation: clarifying the idea, framing the argument or story, and selecting the right style of expression. Words follow. Often, so does magic. Depending on the client and the need, I offer follow-up critiques to online or in-person sessions.
