About Aurelia

I’m Aurelia, a first-year Law student at the University of Nottingham with A*A*A* in A-level Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. I achieved an A* in AQA Biology, scoring 30 marks above the A* boundary, and I also offer tutoring in Psychology — one of my strongest subjects (I achieved 20 marks above an A*.) I wasn’t the “predicted top student” at school. My GCSE results weren’t the best, and teachers had low expectations for me. I struggled through Year 12 without really understanding the content and was told I needed tutoring. But instead, I worked out how I learn best — by truly understanding concepts rather than memorising — and pushed myself relentlessly. My partner, who I’ve now been with for two years, inspired me with his motivation and intelligence, and that support drove me to work harder than ever before. I proved everyone wrong: I taught myself how to study effectively, stayed disciplined, and achieved grades that nobody thought I could. Because of that journey, I believe I’ve found the most efficient and effective study methods, and I want to help others do the same. I’m hardworking, approachable, and easy to talk to — and I know exactly what it feels like to struggle with content. That’s why I’m passionate about tutoring: I want to help students not just improve their grades, but believe in themselves and enjoy the process of learning.

About the lesson

My lessons focus on breaking Biology down into simple, logical steps so it finally makes sense. I know from experience that memorising facts doesn’t work long-term — real understanding does. I’ll use clear explanations, diagrams, and exam-style practice to help you build confidence and improve grades. I have a real focus on exam prep and using my own past paper resources when approaching exams, which I will share with my students! Everyone learns differently and I will tailor every session to your needs
