About Rhys
Hi! I'm Rhys, I tutor Physics, Astrophysics, Cosmology, Astronomy, Maths and Electronics. I have a first class (hons) "Physics with Astrophysics and cosmology" undergraduate degree from the University of Loughborough and am currently taking a gap year for the 2020-2021 academic year in hope to peruse a postgraduate degree (Masters or PhD).
I offer private 1-1 tuition from GCSE to A-level. I provide tutorial lessons along with workshops and problem classes for which we can work through exam questions together for which i can provide explanation on the method to provide an efficient and accurate answer in order to achieve the best mark possible.
I have been tutoring maths A-level and GCSE for many different people with different work loads as well as currently helping undergraduate finalist (Final years) with their dissertation in Astrophysics.
My Education background:
-Primary education: Holbrook primary school.
-Secondary education: The Forest School ("for boys" at the time) where i achieved 12 A*-C grades including A's in Maths and Physics.
-College: The college of Richard Collyers (Collyers) where I achieved A*AA in Physics, electronics and Maths respectively.
-Undergraduate: Loughborough university graduate with first-class honours (BSc).
I was offered a position for an interview for Oxbridge (University interview for Oxford and Cambridge) but declined due to pressuring my athletics career at Loughborough University (2018-2020).
I am a national athlete (100m,200m and 400m) sprinter and also have competed for Loughborough university at BUCS. I love traveling and exploring the word as well as being a qualified astronomer (My Dissertation was based around the study of stars and how they evolved with time) where I look and star gaze.

My teaching method is based on 1 on 1 interactions while providing lecture notes and formal descriptions of the topics. There are no wrong answers, we all know nothing until we are taught it, the tutoring is a calm and relaxed environment where anything can be asked or done. I believe stressing only results in backward and scattered thoughts and so my aim is to prevent this and to fully guide the student in what they need to learn in order to achieve to their best potential.
I work primarily with the hands on approach of providing questions and key points about question and how to answer them on topics to help the student understand the requirement from them to answer as efficiently and as accurate as required.
Always here to help and to aid with confusion throughout their studies as being stuck without help is the kryptonite of achieving your best.
There can be lessons to explain the reasons of being correct and/or incorrect to question, rather than just saying "good" or "bad", I prefer for you to see the errors and to gain an understanding through explanation rather than being left in the dark with an incorrect answer (This can also be done via email).
If there was a topic for which a student was confused or stuck on, I can provide notes of my own to really breakdown the context of what is happen in the topic or question for which may not be found in textbooks or lessons notes (due to time constraints of lessons/lectures).
I can construct notes and questions for the session.
I also work with email for any confusing on questions or exam preparations while tutoring with me.
