Gained a BA Hons 1st Class in Film Art and PG Cert in a Research Masters for Theatre & Performance and a Plymouth University PDAP Teaching Associate Fellowship for Improvisation. I have been teaching African drumming with Djembes for On Course Adult Education

My teaching method is introducing to students what the djembe's history and reasons for playing originally in Africa. Then gradually teaching the 3 main sounds/strike areas (bass, tone and slap). Followed by enabling the learners to practise various rhythms by showing them visually and audibly. This is based on many years of experience in teaching djembe.
