About Dr Vikas

Being a teacher at various levels is a tough job. The most of what I have as experience is that of teaching university freshers, graduates and scholars. However, I have not stepped back from taking classes of tyros or schoolkids and have been able to receive positive feedback. I have been working as a teacher of language and literature collectively for six years now and also have the experience of four years of research which is going to be rewarded to me as my Doctorate. I am looking forward to more online teaching opportunities as I find it enticing to be involved in education and learning with people from various places around the globe.

I use the most relevant methodology to disseminate important information related to different subject areas. Courses requiring catechizing and/or didactic learning are handled according to the coursework, taking the student's target grade into consideration. Because literature calls for the student's full attention, it is essential that the lessons are both engaging and scholarly. The English language students are given meticulous care because classes like phonetics, grammar, and linguistics demand assiduity. Educational and Research Profile Earned a 77% overall grade for my Bachelor of Arts in English from Central University of Chhattisgarh, for which I was awarded a Gold Medal at the university's Fifth Convocation by Hon. Shri Thirumalachari Ramaswami, Chief Secretary of India's Science and Technology Board. With an overall grade of 82:00% (distinction), earned a Master's in English Literature from the very Central University. Qualified for UGC-CBSE NET 2018 in English and CG-SET 2017. Certified as a TEFL instructor by the TEFL Professional Development Institute USA Has a rich research experience and has presented research papers at seven national and four international conferences. Has also been awarded the best paper awards at one national and one international conference. Teaching Experience Has seven years of experience as an Assistant Professor and four years of experience teaching English to students from various countries. Has been teaching English Literature, Technical Communication and Linguistics to students of Arts and Engineering. Has been a teacher to the students of the Higher Secondary classes of the State Board for a year and of the students of C.B.S.E. for a year and has received an overwhelming response. Has been helping students with reading differences such as dyslexia and speech defects for over three years Hobbies and specialization I have linguistics, critical theory, and public speaking as my areas of expertise. The biggest benefit of studying with me is that I never let a student wander off in doubt about a concept. I believe that it is my duty as a teacher to provide my students with the most in-depth and complete knowledge possible. I believe that, as a teacher, it is my duty to provide my students with the most in-depth and thorough education possible. Furthermore, I enjoy reading, playing poker, cricket, basketball, boxing, and other sports. I hope I have adequately described myself. I am looking forward to working with you and having the opportunity to get to know you.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

I can say that I didn't choose English but English chose me to become a teacher of it. I was not the brightest student in my class but somehow I had a firm knowledge of programming languages, philosophy and English. As the SSC exam went by I realised that it was time I chose something for myself (perhaps my first and the most difficult choice). I had always had a bad time learning Mathematics which automatically shut the doors for choosing Maths and Commerce as my +2 subjects and Science too involved Physics which would drag me back into calculations. I didn't have much of a choice then, Arts it was. Once into it, I realised I was perhaps meant for it. I ranked in my HSC and was felicitated with a Gold Medal in my graduation, maybe English loved me more than programming and philosophy did (or even more than I loved English) and the graph of progress never went down since then.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

It feels like teaching is something that pacifies me like a saint is pacified after a deliberation on life's greatest secrets. My profession satisfies me. The happiness on the students' faces, the smiles I see when they enjoy the class, the laughter we have when there is a joke cracked in the class seem like gifts of this profession. Who would not want a profession with so many gifts?
  • How does your work help society?

Engineers build the future, Doctors save lives, Lawyers make justice prevail and Businessmen run the economy, but we teachers help them become what they are.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. The reason is simply because he had the blessing of having his last breath used in doing what he loved most: teaching.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

I like playing Cricket, Basketball, Boxing and Swimming. I am also fond of Poker and love reading and composing poetry. I have a lot of poems on my Facebook timeline and many more in my notes.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

Actually yes! I first realised that I can teach in 11th standard when one of our teachers tried to embarrass me by asking me to explain the Continental Drift Theory. Somehow I explained it so well to my fellow mates that they couldn't resist applauding for me, which struck our teacher dumb. I realised my potential of teaching and also the possibility of it being my future. I think the cosmos works this way, what is best for you comes to you one or the other way. You just need to realize it in time.
