About Guido
I’m currently an MA student in History of Art and Archaeology at SOAS, University of London. My own work focuses mainly on East Asian art history, modernity, nationalism, identity, and the relationship between art and society. I’m especially interested in theoretical approaches to art history, including critical and social theory.
I want to teach because I enjoy discussing ideas, helping people understand difficult texts or artworks, and making academic writing feel less intimidating. I’m also planning to pursue a PhD in the future, so I’m keen to gain more teaching experience while supporting students with subjects I genuinely care about.

My approach is discussion-based, clear, and focused on helping students understand both the subject and how to write about it. I can help with visual analysis, essay planning, argument development, academic writing, reading difficult texts, and connecting artworks to wider historical, social, political, or theoretical contexts.
I usually begin by identifying what the student needs help with: understanding a topic, preparing for an essay, improving structure, analysing an image, or working through feedback. From there, lessons can be more conversational, text-based, image-based, or focused on a specific assignment.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, but I can adapt this depending on the student’s needs.
I am currently an MA student in History of Art and Archaeology at SOAS, University of London, with a strong interest in critical and social theory, East Asian art history, modernity, nationalism, identity, and visual culture.
My lessons are suitable for A-Level, undergraduate, and postgraduate students, as well as anyone interested in art history, humanities, or academic writing.
