About Magdalena

I am a photographer and educator, originally from Poland, who moved to England in 2010 to continue my art education at Central Saint Martins, Chelsea College of Arts, and the Royal College of Art, where I completed my Master’s Degree in Photography in 2019.

For over 15 years, I have been teaching Art Theory and Practice, supporting students with portfolio preparation, art university applications, competitions, and artist statements, as well as guiding those just beginning their creative journey. I design custom programmes tailored to each student’s level, ambitions, and goals.

My approach balances structure and discipline with freedom and experimentation, ensuring students develop both technical skills and their own artistic voice. Alongside portfolio and application support, I also teach Photography and Graphic Design and am familiar with a range of exam boards, including AQA and Pearson Edexcel. I have worked with students across all levels, from primary school to higher education.

My teaching is inspired by the Great Masters of the Renaissance as well as contemporary art practice. I believe that research and contextual knowledge are essential tools for artistic development, and I encourage students to integrate these into their creative process.

Whether you are preparing for A-Levels, applying to art school, refining your portfolio, or writing your artist statement, I provide expert guidance, motivating critique, and supportive mentorship to help you achieve your goals.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailor-made to each student, combining practical creation with strong theoretical grounding. I also lead Photography and Graphic Design courses, giving students the tools to develop skills across multiple creative disciplines.

Lesson Focus: Art Theory & Practice: Learn key techniques, composition, colour theory, and critical approaches to develop your artistic voice. Portfolio Preparation & Application Support: Receive guidance for art school applications, competitions, and professional submissions. Photography & Graphic Design: Develop technical skills, digital workflows, and creative problem-solving.

Custom Programs: Lessons are personalised based on your experience, goals, and ambitions, balancing structured guidance with freedom for self-expression and experimentation.

Whether you want to explore your creativity, improve technical skills, prepare for art school, or simply enjoy learning art in a supportive environment, my lessons provide hands-on practice, expert guidance, and inspiring mentorship tailored just for you.
