About Ruth
Language proficiency rarely happens through memorizing simple lists of vocabulary. I possess a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and music which anchors my pedagogical style in 14 years of teaching. My work spans from helping teens and kids to preparing working professionals for complex interviews. Whether we discuss Latin American variants or the technicalities of verb conjugation, I emphasize clear pronunciation and natural intonation. I enjoy weaving my background as a Colombian expat into lessons to bring authenticity to our conversations. Watching students navigate new writing skills and listening practice is the highlight of my week. I hope to help you find your voice in this beautiful language very soon.

Your first session involves a deep dive into your current goals and conversational needs. You will receive consistent feedback on your accent and intonation as we work together. We utilize weekly conversation practice recordings that we review during our time together. This helps you track improvements in your fluency and grammar over the long term. My 14 years of experience allow me to move between DELE exam prep and casual travel Spanish with ease. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish to support the grammatical frameworks we address.
