About Robert
During the 25 years I have taught Careers, and participated in career fairs in various schools, I've discovered that this course is one of the most important and least prioritized courses in the secondary school curriculum. Many students struggle to find relevance and connection when they take it, and unfortunately, it is not always valued by those who teach it. This is why more and more students are seeking help in selecting courses both at the secondary and post-secondary levels.

I have created and taught Careers courses for 25 years. Much has changed during that time, and career options seem to grow and change daily. How can you make sense of it all? How can you find a meaningful pathway that can still provide flexibility and give you options? How do you avoid making the "wrong" choice?
Whether you are in grade 9 or in your 3rd year of university, there are significant concepts to unlearn and relearn as far as the world of work is concerned.
I take a wholistic approach, including interest inventories, hobbies, skills, and inclinations, to help you build a coherent, goal-oriented plan.
Three delivery options: At tutor's home, local public library, or online. Homeschoolers also welcome!

Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
My son is in grade 6 and has struggled with Math and Language; as a result he was distracted in class and often off-task. We found Kooy Tutoring with a quick Google search in our area. Rob’s free 30 minute consult was very helpful and gave us confidence that he was the ideal tutor for our son. Rob’s great with him, and helped him to improve his math and language skills; his report card improved considerably and he’s now much more confident in working with numbers! Rob was also able to seamlessly and sometimes last-minute switch to online, and offer the same full tutoring experience with the great online tools he uses. (This was super helpful with our crazy winter!)
I’d highly recommend Kooy Tutoring Services!
Robert is not only trustworthy, he is kind, compassionate and truly a great teacher. As a previous student of Robert, I know first hand how much he invests in his youth and how much he wants to see everyone succeed in their goals. If not for him, I would not have the passion for knowledge that I have currently.
I highly recommended Robert, he is so passionate about his teaching, his interest keeps his students interested and excited to learn. Not to mention, he’s easy to contact and a great understanding person to talk to!
I have worked with Rob for the last 15 years at the secondary level. We have worked on various specialized student opportunities, incorporating hands-on experiences and community partners. He has proven to be very supportive of staff and student success. He has a strong work ethic and is empowering while confidential and kind. He excels at individualizing content to support every student’s singular needs.
I have worked close with Rob for nearly a decade. He is very passionate about teaching and seeing student succeed. His caring demeanour is shown daily in his classes and he always goes above and beyond. A+++
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with Rob for the last several years. Rob is a caring educator, who strives to teach his students knowledge and skills needed for the classroom and beyond. He uses a variety of instructional and assessment practices to ensure all students have the opportunity for success. His tech skills and knowledge help equip our students with the digital skills for society. Rob’s a dedicated, and motivated secondary teacher who is committed to student learning and achievement through cross-curricular activities and authentic learning opportunities. Rob provides his students with one-to-one instruction, implementing their IEPs and ensuring they have the appropriate supports and strategies in place. He establishes positive relationships with students and the school community. Rob continues to be engaged in professional development and collaborative learning to broaden his knowledge and skills. Rob is truly an amazing teacher.
Robert is a caring, involved educator who enjoys having students use critical thinking and strategies to improve their knowledge and thinking skills. He is the first one to find a new and improved way to deliver information as well as sticking to the old "tested and true" to support student learning. Robert is highly involved in Equity and Diversity and helping create an inclusive learning environment for all students.
Rob is one of the best, most innovative teachers, I have ever had the honour of working with. He inspires his students, through the use of technology, and collaborative techniques, to take the responsibility needed, to master the content they are learning. Staff and students alike appreciate his kind and empathetic style of teaching to each students’ unique and varying learning styles. A true leader in Ontario’s education system.
