About Razvan

I am a qualified Part 2 Architectural Assistant from the University of Sheffield, currently working towards building a career in research, teaching and art.

I am offering tutoring lessons to people looking to study architecture/arts at university, as well as people currently in undergraduate courses or adults looking to enter the industry without prior knowledge.

I am friendly and approachable with a strong work ethic and passion for teaching. At the moment, my entire time is dedicated to teaching. So you won't have to deal with a tutor who treats your lessons as a 'side job'.

I have helped people with their portfolios and applications that have gotten into different universities across the UK and Europe in the past (architecture, arts and design) and I have also helped people who were struggling with their university experience to develop their projects and get first-class degrees for their work.
Furthermore, one of my main specialities is research and writing. I have a passion for understanding the world we live in. I have received university travel scholarships for carrying out research in Sarajevo, Nicosia and Sao Paulo and I have helped my students take their essay writing to the next level.

*But above all, I come with a lot of flexibility and patience. I am always looking for constructive criticism and will always listen to my students to understand how I can improve. I believe teaching can go both ways and my no.1 priority is for you to get an enjoyable experience whilst developing your skill set and confidence.

About the lesson

The first lesson will always involve understanding what you would like to achieve and how we can structure future lessons to help you achieve your goals, whether it is about CV and application preparation for jobs or universities, software learning, conceptual design or writing.

People are different and learn at a different pace and there is no 'perfect formula'. Therefore, I actively spend time out of my classes to evaluate our progress and improve the experience, one lesson at a time. I believe in a well-rounded and diverse teaching experience that touches upon multiple subjects.

* But above all, I come with a friendly, approachable and patient attitude. I have experience working with kids, young adults and students. I work towards building a friendly, but professional relationship with all my students.

WHAT CAN I TEACH YOU: architecture design work, essay writing, research, software, portfolio and interview preparation and drawing classes (digital or by hand)

ARCHITECTURE DESIGN WORK *
I can assist you in the development of your project from concept to final design stages including detailing.

ESSAY WRITING & RESEARCH*
As a student, I have constantly achieved grades in the high 80s for my writing and research methodologies. I have received awards and travel scholarships (to travel to Sarajevo, Nicosia, and Sao Paulo). I can teach you essay and research structure and theory, and offer writing tips as well as advanced knowledge in different fields that will push your writing to a new level and make it more accessible (such as philosophy, and film theory).

SOFTWARE
Structured tutorials on commonly used software in the art and architecture industry: Revit (3d Modelling and industry software) - Rhino (3d Modelling) - Twinmotion / Enscape (Rendering) - Photoshop (Digital drawing, post-production) - InDesign (portfolio layout and design)

PORTFOLIO, CV & INTERVIEW PREPARATION*
We will go in detail through your work and portfolio, from the basic concepts, such as layout and legibility, to more advanced tips, such as picture hierarchy and strategies that make your work stand out. And finally, we can also work on your presentation skills and how to sell yourself.

DRAWING CLASSES*
Trained in fine arts and classic architecture drawing and representation - I can offer a fully structured plan from basic theory (colour theory and composition theory) to drawing techniques and tricks. Over time, we will work towards helping you achieve your style using whatever tools you prefer (oils, watercolours, graphite, markers or even more experimental methods such as alcohol painting). Initially, we will start with basic tools - pencils and paper - so there is no need to invest in expensive tools early on.

Lessons may be combined as part of the same plan but we can also focus only on one of them - all depending on what you would like to achieve.
