About Tara

Hi, I'm Tara! I'm a native English speaker from California with over 20 years of teaching experience and a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics. I've taught students from more than 15 countries and helped professionals, researchers, and advanced learners refine their communication and achieve their English language goals. My background as a teacher and academic editor (as well as a learner of over five languages) means I have a high-level understanding of the linguistic challenges faced by non-native speakers. Whether you want to speak more naturally, write more concisely, or publish your research, I'll help you achieve this with clarity, structure, and encouragement. I believe that learning English should be both challenging and rewarding, so my job is to create a space where you gain confidence and learn to express your authentic voice. About the lesson

As a linguist and experienced English coach, I design each lesson around genuine communication and building confidence. My sessions are dynamic, interactive, and tailored to your personal or professional goals, whether improving fluency, refining pronunciation, or mastering academic writing. A typical lesson combines targeted skill practice with guided feedback. We might analyze a short text or video, highlight key expressions and phrasal verbs, and then apply them through speaking or writing tasks. I always provide personalized corrections and clear explanations so you understand not only what to say, but also why it works in English. My approach is based on linguistic research and over 20 years of teaching experience. I help learners identify hidden language patterns, overcome ingrained errors, and develop a natural, confident communication style. These lessons are ideal for advanced and upper-intermediate learners: professionals, researchers, and students who already use English on a daily basis but want to sound more fluent, precise, and authentic.
