About Michael
I am originally from Texas and am now living in Ireland since 2018. I have always had a passion for reading and writing, so I decided to explore furthering my education there. I have taught at the University of Limerick in the English Department for the last four years covering mainly Literary Theory, Victorian Texts and Contexts, and English 1: Short Stories and Essays. I fully love engaging and exploring literature with students and have had several students express gratitude in the past. Discussion and dialogue are key to my teaching practice; there is a time and place for lecturing but I believe getting to talk through the material helps understanding and involvement.

Discussion and rhetoric are key components. Following the Question Formulation Technique, we explore and question everything about the material. I help you focus on the parts you find interesting and dive into ways to connect them to relevant interests. Education should not be a chore, but rather an entertaining and interesting journey. Generally 45-50 minutes to cover the material and then allow a few minutes at the end for questions to consider for future engagement. I have my MA and PhD in Creative Writing and have four years of experience teaching at the university level. My main focus is university age but can adapt accordingly.
