About Jessica

I have a Master's degree in Biology Education from the University of California San Diego and 8 years of experience teaching life science to K-12 American students in one-to-one settings. I understand how American biology education works at every level, from elementary nature studies through college-prep AP courses. I've worked with American students who want to pursue careers in medicine, veterinary science, environmental science, biotechnology, and other STEM fields that are growing rapidly in the American job market. My teaching approach uses research-based methods proven effective with American students, including immediate feedback, visual learning tools, and connections to real-world American scientific research. I've helped students from diverse American backgrounds - from rural farming communities to big city schools - discover their passion for biology and prepare for successful STEM careers. Many of my former students are now studying at top American medical schools, veterinary programs, and research universities across the country.

About the lesson

I teach biology in a way that connects perfectly to American students' interests and future career goals, especially the growing STEM fields that are so important in the American economy. We explore how biology relates to American issues like healthcare, environmental protection, agriculture, and biotechnology industries. Every topic is taught using examples from American life - studying ecosystems in national parks like Yellowstone, understanding genetics through American family ancestry, or exploring human biology through American health statistics. I use virtual labs and experiments that prepare you for the hands-on science experiences you'll have in American high schools and colleges. We also focus on developing the scientific thinking and research skills that American universities and employers value most. I make sure you understand both the basic concepts and the advanced ideas you'll need for AP Biology, college biology courses, and potential STEM careers in America. We practice with the types of questions you'll see on American standardized tests and college entrance exams, always connecting biology to real American scientific research and discoveries.
