About Kerri
I play the harp, piano, flute, tin-whistle and violin. I studied my undergraduate in Music from Ulster University in 2018 and then continued to complete my Masters in Creative Musicianship in 2019. I have won multiple Derry and Ulster titles in the harp and have won the Fleadh All-Ireland Harp competition in 2016. I have been playing music for 18 years and have been teaching music for 10 of those years. I have played for Prince Charles on two separate occassions, and I have also played for the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, in Dublin Castle. I have played for the British and Internal Federation of Adjudicators at the Titanic Quarters in Belfast. I have achieved grade 8 in the harp and piano, and grade 7 in the flute.

I have given both individual and group lessons. My lesson structure normally consists of agreeing on a piece of music to learn (If you don't like what I choose, you are going to be less likely to learn it, therefore I like to find music that is of interest to you, the student, to get you interested and excited about learning the harp at the beginning). Once we agree on the piece, we will learn the right hand first (the melodic line), making sure we have the notes, rhythm and fingers correct, before we move onto the left hand. The left hand is your accompanying hand, which will consist of either octaves, or smaller chords, depending on your hand size and the size of your harp. Once we have the two hands separately, we will then put the hands together, and that will be one piece added to your collection/repertoire.
