About Amira
I used to teach English as a second language to native Arabic speakers belonging to various age groups (from 12 to 54). My teaching experience lasted 11 months, and in total I had approximately 65 students. Along the 11 months time period, my pupils ( aging between 12 and 16) had shown impressive improvements in their overall grades at school while my elder students showed better confidence of communicating using the English language.

I am a first year PhD student at the University of Exeter, originally from Algeria. Being a native speaker of the Arabic language allows me to meet the learners' needs at the level of reading, listening, reading, writing and speaking the target language. I used to teach the English language to pupils aging between 12 and 16 following their school curricula, and I also taught English for elderly learners for the purpose of using the language to communicate abroad. My techniques of teaching vary depending on the age group of my students. The younger ones very much enjoy learning the language in fun, competitive, and active way; whereas the older ones prefer learning using methods that simulate real life situations. I consider myself as a flexible tutor and ready to meet my learners' needed methods of learning for them to have a better understanding of the language.
