About Jenna
I am a piano tutor with a BM in Sacred Music (Piano/Organ) and 6 years of teaching experience. I enjoy blending academic training with practical playing across ragtime, stride, and early jazz styles. These historical genres teach students rhythm, timing, and musical expression. I work with both school-aged learners and adults who are passionate about piano. Lessons focus on technique, listening skills, and style-specific patterns. I provide clear explanations and hands-on demonstrations for every student. My goal is to help learners feel confident while exploring these classic sounds. I also guide students in developing musicality and phrasing within these styles. I help students compose original music on the piano with both creativity and structure. Lessons cover songwriting, melodies, harmonies, and thematic development. I work closely with The Therapy Seeker and The Jazz Pianist to guide their compositions. Lessons focus on building motifs, chord progressions, and musical coherence. I provide feedback that is clear, encouraging, and actionable. Students practice improvisation and composition exercises to strengthen creativity. Each session helps students organize ideas into complete, playable music. I emphasize both technical skills and expressive freedom. Lessons are designed to grow confidence and musical independence. Together, we turn creative ideas into polished piano works. You’ll learn to compose your own musical legacy.
