About Elara
I’m a pianist, composer, and teacher with over 6 years of experience helping students grow through music. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition with a Piano Emphasis, which has shaped the way I approach both teaching and performing. Music, for me, is a lifelong journey—one that invites exploration, creativity, and personal expression. As a performer and composer, I love creating improvisational works and guiding others to develop their own spontaneous composition skills. Whether you're just starting your piano journey or you're an advanced musician refining your artistry, I tailor lessons to your needs and goals. I believe in building a strong technical foundation while encouraging creative freedom. My teaching blends classical structure with space for invention, helping students find their unique musical voice. I’ve worked with children, teens, and adults, supporting each of them through different stages of growth. In every lesson, I aim to make music meaningful, approachable, and alive. I see each student as a creative individual and foster a space where curiosity is welcome. From Bach to modern improvisation, I help students make connections across styles and history. My goal is to not only teach piano but to help students think musically and feel deeply.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students unlock their creative voice at the piano. I guide them in composing original melodies, harmonies, and full pieces from the ground up. Together, we explore songwriting techniques, how to build strong intros and outros, and how to shape musical themes that feel personal and expressive. Creativity is at the heart of each lesson, but I also teach the structure needed to bring musical ideas to life. Students learn to balance freedom and form—an essential skill for writing music that feels both inspired and complete. I work closely with those who use music as emotional expression or who have a natural flair for jazz and improvisation. With steady guidance, they gain the tools to shape their emotions into sound and turn spontaneous ideas into lasting compositions. We explore chord progressions, rhythmic variation, and mood setting. I offer practical tools like sketching motifs, refining song sections, and developing lyrical phrasing on the piano. My method encourages exploration while staying grounded in musical principles. Whether you're just beginning or already writing music, I support your growth with care and clear feedback. Each student is guided toward building a unique musical identity. With time and practice, you'll not only create songs—you’ll compose your musical legacy.
