About Charlotte

My name is Charlotte, and I am delighted to work with you. I have spent over three years teaching undergraduate English and Creative Writing across TCD and UCD, and also have experience working in post-primary education.

While my academic career has focused on the mechanics of language, Irish and English literature, and advanced writing, I am passionate about teaching. I chose to become a tutor because I love the breakthrough moments when an essay structure suddenly clicks, a line of poetry transforms into something you connect with, or an exam strategy goes from daunting to manageable.

University lecture halls are wonderful, but one-to-one online tutoring allows me to focus entirely on you. I teach because I want to demystify advanced English, build your confidence, and help you find your own unique, authoritative voice. Whether you are aiming for a H1 in the Leaving Cert or navigating university-level research, I am here to help you succeed.

About the lesson

Are you a Leaving Cert student aiming for a H1, or a university student refining your academic writing? These premium online lessons are tailored specifically for you.

About Me & My Approach:
As a Trinity College Dublin PhD graduate with extensive teaching experience at both TCD and UCD, I bring university-level rigour to every session. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all tutoring. My teaching methodology is individualised, focusing on your strengths and areas for improvement, and ensuring you have the tools to unlock your full potential.

What My Classes Look Like:
• Target Audience: Leaving Cert English grinds (under 18s require parental inquiry), academic writing, thesis/dissertation coaching for university students.
• Session Length: Highly focused 60-minute online sessions, structured to maximise progress.
• Techniques: Active textual critique, dynamic diagnostic feedback, and real-time essay remodelling.
• We don't just study texts, we master the mechanics of exceptional writing.
