About Mitchell
I have a BA (Government and International Relations) and during the duration of my university degree I worked as a tutor for high school students in English and other humanities subjects. I have 5 years of experience in tutoring students up to the highest level in NSW - Extension 2. All my students have gone on to do what they desired at university, TAFE or entering full time work after school. I have also had students come to me when on the verge of dropping out of school but have sought my help and stayed on to complete their HSC. Overall, it's something I enjoy doing and I am strongly considering taking up an education degree as a result.

Put simply my methodology is "casual but professional". Students and parents don't want a second teacher - they want a tutor who can be a mentor and counsel them on where they can improve. I take a very active approach to sessions where students will write, read and engage in the subject matter they are studying at school. It is best to ensure that everything we do in tutoring sessions is related to what the student is doing at school, so that its relevance and educational value are obvious and beneficial. Students don't want extra work that drowns them out, they want something of value and something that can help them improve incrementally.

Details
I am happy to travel across Sydney, but I will have to factor in travel costs. This will vary depending on distance travelled. Online lessons are easier (and cheaper) for everyone however :)
