About Clarisse

I want to become a tutor because I am passionate about learning and I enjoy helping others gain confidence in subjects they may find difficult. I understand that not every student learns in the same way, and I find it rewarding to break down topics in a simple, clear way that makes sense to them. My goal is not just to help students improve their grades, but to help them feel more confident and capable in their own abilities.
This motivation comes from my own academic journey. I have always worked hard in my studies, with a strong background in Mathematics, English, and Science, and I am currently studying for an Accounting degree. I have also studied Psychology at higher education level, which has helped me understand how people think, learn, and respond to different teaching styles.
Becoming a parent has also played a big role in shaping why I want to tutor. It has strengthened my patience, responsibility, and understanding of how important encouragement and support are in learning. I want to be the kind of tutor who makes students feel safe to ask questions and who helps them believe in themselves.
Overall, I want to use my knowledge, experience, and patience to make a positive difference in students’ education and help them reach their full potential.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is calm, patient, and fully tailored to each individual student. I believe that every learner is different, so I adapt my teaching style to suit their needs, whether they require more visual explanations, step-by-step guidance, or repeated practice to build confidence. My focus is on helping students truly understand the subject rather than just memorising answers, so they can apply their knowledge independently.
I use a mix of clear explanations, guided practice, and interactive questioning to keep lessons engaging and to check understanding throughout. I also encourage students to ask questions freely, as I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where they feel comfortable learning from mistakes. Where appropriate, I use real-life examples to make topics easier to understand and more interesting.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs and concentration level.
I have a strong academic background in Mathematics, English, and Science and am currently studying for an Accounting degree. I have also completed Higher Education studies in Psychology, which helps me understand different learning styles and how to support students effectively.
My lessons are suitable for Primary and GCSE students who need support with Maths, English, or Science, whether they are aiming to improve their grades, build confidence, or prepare for exams.
Above all, I aim to help students feel more confident, capable, and positive about their learning.
