About Margaret
Across seventeen years of tutoring I have taught 880 students Spanish, the majority preparing for demanding examinations or professional fluency requirements. My own fluency developed through extended academic study combined with years of professional work across Spanish speaking regions. After seventeen years teaching Spanish, my method is highly systematic, built around detailed diagnostic testing at the very start of every tutoring relationship to pinpoint exact gaps rather than guessing at weaknesses. Topics are organised into a mapped sequence, showing students explicitly how one grammatical concept feeds into the next, which helps advanced learners see coherence across the entire curriculum. For exam preparation I rely heavily on timed practice combined with detailed error analysis, categorising mistakes as conceptual, careless, or time pressure related, since each demands a different fix. I maintain a long term tracking spreadsheet for every student, logging performance across topics over months to catch slow developing weaknesses early.
