About Phoebe

Teaching guitar for over 8 years has allowed me to connect with students of all levels. I studied Guitar Performance at the Bachelor of Music level, focusing on Contemporary Styles. This training influences the way I design my lessons. Creativity sits at the heart of my teaching. I focus on composition, arranging, and developing original music. Students practise harmonic progressions, melodic invention, and counterpoint. Recording basic demos helps them bring ideas to life. My teaching style adapts to the goals of each learner. Beginners learn the fundamentals, while advanced students refine artistry. Professional and aspiring composers benefit from my emphasis on structure and creativity. Lessons are dynamic, encouraging, and personal. I aim to build both technical skill and artistic confidence. Together, we’ll explore the guitar as a tool for creativity and discover the joy of writing your own music.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching guitar is rooted in making theory functional and fun. Scales and modes are introduced through fretboard patterns that inspire improvisation. Chord construction is broken down so students can create voicings with confidence. Harmonic analysis shows how songs are structured and why they sound the way they do. I focus on making every concept relevant to playing. The Aspiring Rock Star learns how to turn scales into expressive solos. The Classical Purist develops an understanding of harmony for interpretation and performance. Lessons are designed to fit personal goals, with exercises that connect theory to creativity. Improvisation is encouraged to build fluency and freedom. Composition projects bring individuality into focus. Students find that theory stops being abstract and becomes musical. Confidence grows with every step forward. Together, we build a foundation that supports artistry, originality, and technical skill.
