About Jonah

Hi, I'm Jonah! I recently graduated from Acadia University with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and the highest academic standing in my graduating class.

During my time at Acadia, I worked at the Writing Center as a one-on-one Writing Tutor and spent three years as a Teaching Assistant, so I have experience both helping students improve their writing and grading the written assignments they handed in.

I also have strong research experience, so I can help with psychology research papers, methods, statistics, and APA formatting.

Overall, my goal is to foster a supportive learning environment where you can ask questions freely, grow your writing skills, and leave each session more confident than when you arrived.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around your goals and learning style. Rather than just fixing one assignment, I help you develop your abilities so that the next essay or paper is easier to write on your own.

A typical session starts with whatever written material you're working on—an essay, research paper, or other written assignment. First we will identify where you need help, before working on specific areas of improvement and developing an approach you can apply moving forward. Overall, the emphasis is on enhancing organization, critical thinking, and strong written communication.

Specifically, I can help with:
-Essays and written assignments in any subject, with additional instruction for assignments in psychology, philosophy, and neuroscience.
-Psychology research papers, methods, and statistics (including R).
-Thesis and honours project support, from proposal to final draft.
-APA formatting, citations, and references.

I’m open to working with high school, college, and university students, as well as adult learners looking to sharpen their academic writing. Whether you're aiming for a better grade, a stronger thesis, or just more confidence with your writing, I'd be happy to help!
