Hello, and welcome! My name is Gianna, and I am from New Jersey, USA. I have been working as a writing tutor for over ten years, tutoring students of all ages and levels. I offer an individualized approach to students who are ready to make their writing stand out. I believe in a collaborative approach in which student and teacher are equals, creating a comfortable learning environment and encouraging personal expression. My goal as a writing tutor is to maintain the writer’s unique voice and style, while providing essential guidance for flow and readability. I lead with collaboration and a conversation-based method to ensure a finished written text that flows seamlessly.
During a typical lesson, I may guide students through outlining and organization of ideas; have students engage in the writing process with me right by their side; read written texts together to work on structure, grammar, flow, clarity, and concision; or focus on editing, proofreading, fact-checking, and citations.
I have taught English and writing in many different countries, making me proficient at working with both native and non-native English speakers. I tutor students of all levels, including higher education. For Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral students, my specialty lies in the social sciences.
