About Iolo

I have just finished 5 years at Winchester College, where I was both a music and an academic scholar. I not only understand what it means to work hard, but also to work smart. I have seen many of my school friends spend HOURS hunched over a textbook, when so much more could be learnt in a shorter period of time.
I was one of 6 senior prefects at Winchester, and I was given many positions of responsibility in both the academic side of the school and the music department.
In my spare time, I enjoy coding and playing the piano and have taken a gap year to reapply to Oxford University to read Physics and gather work experience.

About the lesson

I believe that everyone has the potential to do well at GCSE and A Level - it is just about how you study. I have recently achieved 3A* (Maths, Further Maths and Physics) and an A (Chemistry) at A Level and have had experience running tutor sessions at school for less academically inclined students. Furthermore, I achieved nine 9s at IGCSE and one 8.
I typically run hour long sessions for anyone at GCSE level or above, as anything less seems redundant. However, with younger children looking to achieve in Common Entrance or 11+, I run 30 minute sessions. I have found that this is the best way to keep my tutees attentive.
I was also a senior prefect at Winchester College, meaning I am well acquainted to teaching children from the ages of 13-18. My experience with younger children comes from tutoring my brother (14) and his friends whilst they were at prep school.
